![]() Some standout pieces of advice from the day that really resonated included “find your passion and follow it’” and, “follow your heart but always have a plan B and C” and a very sage piece of advice to “say yes to every opportunity offered to you!”. Upwey High students were privileged to hear from, and put their questions to an Olympian & current Australian Women’s Volleyball captain, a golfing entrepreneur and winner of the 2019 Telstra Business Awards, an Assistant Principal and recipient of the 2017 Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals award, an Emergency & Crisis management Specialist and Forensic Identification/Crime Scene Expert and a Creative Director/Founder of a Marketing Communications & Branding Agency, (responsible for the original school logo!). If the returning alum panel showed one thing, it was that success, and the route to it, comes in many, different forms. Having such generous and enthusiastic alum, from such a broad range of careers perfectly illustrated the many career pathway opportunities and exciting careers available to students today. The five, returning alum each provided so much invaluable advice and career insights for the Year 12, 11 and 10 students lucky enough to attend the packed session - and left them wanting more, with many additional questions continuin g to flow after the session had of ficially ntinue reading about Upwey High's inaugural alumni session underneath the pictures below.
